Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo and Kapuso heartthrob Alden Richards are set to reignite their on-screen chemistry in the highly anticipated sequel Hello, Love, Again, slated for release on November 13. The duo recently gave an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News during the filming of the movie in Calgary, Canada.

Challenges on Set: Weather Woes

Filming in Calgary presented unique challenges, particularly due to the unpredictable weather. Richards shared, “I think ‘yung weather, weather’s a big dilemma sa amin especially sa exterior scenes.” Despite these difficulties, the team persevered under the expert guidance of their director, Cathy Garcia Sampana.

The Warmth of the Filipino Community

Both Bernardo and Richards expressed their gratitude for the unwavering support of the Filipino community in Canada. “All the Filipinos here are very supportive, and the team feels so much love here in Calgary,” Richards said. Bernardo echoed his sentiments, adding, “So much love from Calgary, especially from the Filipino community here, like today, part ‘yung iba ng scenes.”

Evolving Storylines and Mature Characters

The sequel promises a deeper and more intense storyline, reflecting the personal growth and struggles of Joy and Ethan, their characters, through the years. Richards highlighted the stark difference from the first film, Hello, Love, Goodbye. “Sobrang iba from the first, napakalayo ng script and storytelling. Sobrang up a notch doon sa original story,” he noted.

For Bernardo, the film’s emotional depth mirrors the evolving dynamics between her and Richards. She explained, “Sakto din ‘yung dynamics namin ngayon and where we are now sa hinihingi ng ‘Hello, Love, Again.’”

A Growing Friendship

Both stars admitted to becoming much closer while working on the sequel. Richards revealed, “Ngayon lang talaga namin nakilala ang isa’t isa kasi before ‘HLG’ wala namang chance to really talk to each other. Mas comfortable, mas familiar.”

Bernardo added, “If we’re talking about comfortability, nandu’n kami sa stage na very comfortable na we can talk about anything.”
