A group of unidentified suspects set a vehicle on fire and fired gunshots while fleeing the scene early Monday morning in Tondo, Manila.

According to a report by Manny Vargas on Dobol B TV, the incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. amid heavy rain at the corner of G. Santiago Street and R. Papa Street in Barangay 189, Barrio Obrero.

CCTV footage showed the suspects breaking the vehicle’s window before setting it ablaze.

Moments later, they were seen fleeing on motorcycles, firing shots into the air as they made their escape.

Authorities estimate that there were three to four suspects involved in the incident.

The Manila Police District (MPD) has launched an investigation into the arson and reckless discharge of firearms.

As of now, no motive has been established, and no arrests have been made.

The owner of the burned vehicle declined to issue a statement regarding the incident.

Residents in the area were alarmed by the gunshots and flames, with many expressing concern about the rising number of violent acts happening even in the early hours of the morning.

Authorities are reviewing additional CCTV footage from nearby establishments in hopes of identifying the culprits and tracing their escape route.

Police are appealing to the public to report any information that may assist in solving the case.

QCPD is reviewing CCTV footage and has urged the involved drivers to cooperate with the investigation.

Still in other news, a 16-year-old girl in Antipolo accused a tricycle driver of forcibly taking her to a hotel instead of bringing her home after work around 3 a.m. The victim said the driver ignored her pleas and sped up when she asked to be let off, “binilisan pa niya lalo ‘yung takbo ng tricycle niya, natatakot na po ako nun.” At the hotel, CCTV showed the driver holding her arm, and the girl said: “hihingi po sana ako ng tulong kaso natatakot po ako sa kanya.”
