Ronnie Liang issued a reminder to the public about the fake videos of him that were used to ask for money from people
The said fake videos were manipulated by AI (Artificial Intelligence) and were believed to have victimized over 100 women
In a statement in front of selected press people yesterday, Liang shared how he was exploited online in fake and edited AI videos
His videos were used to “build romance” and ask for money from women, according to an article by Inquirer

The money solicited from women has possibly reached $500,000 or over 28 million pesos, according to the article.

“I was accused of asking people for money. I was accused of tricking them into meeting me in hotels, where some had already booked a flight to meet a supposed me,” he said in Filipino.

Ronnie Liang, who showed the manipulated videos to the media, said that the clips were edited from his live broadcasts.

He revealed that both Filipinas and foreigners had fallen victim to these scams.

Liang also admitted feeling “frustrated” that people continue to get fooled, despite his repeated warnings not to trust everything online.

“To our Filipinas, but actually those who often send money are foreigners, please be vigilant, be observant, and be careful not to believe that Ronnie Liang will try to seduce you and arrange for you to stay in hotels and order you to book flights, that is not me,” he emphasized.

Ronnie de Guzman Liang, better known as Ronnie Liang, is a Filipino singer, actor, model, pilot, and Army reservist. He rose to fame after finishing as second runner-up in the debut season of Pinoy Dream Academy in 2006, with his song “Ngiti” becoming a big hit.
