Despite the fall-out of his manager-talent relationship with Liza Soberano, Ogie Diaz said he would willingly extend a helping hand to the actress should she need it.
Diaz said this as he disclosed he had knowledge of Soberano’s abuse experience, in his YouTube vlog shared on Sunday, Aug. 17. The actress previously opened up in an episode of the “Can I Come In?” podcast about the childhood trauma she experienced at the hands of her mother’s boyfriend, and while she was with her foster family.
“Alam namin pero hindi para i-discuss namin habang ine-establish namin ang kanyang career kasi hindi siya makakatulong,” he told his vlog co-hosts.
(We know about it but it’s not something we discussed publicly while establishing her career because it won’t be of any help.)
They then talked about the podcast episode’s latter part in which Soberano smashed a piece of cake while making a mention of a redacted name. Some netizens apparently speculate that it was Diaz’s name.
“Feeling ko hindi ako ‘yon. At alam naman ni Liza ang totoo na we’ve done our part bilang manager niya, together with Star Magic,” Dias stated. “Kung kulang pa ‘yon e narrative na ni Liza ‘yon.”
(I believe she was not referring to me. And she knows the truth—that we, along with Star Magic, did our part as her managers. If it was not enough, then it’s already her narrative.)
Diaz then sent her well-wishes for Soberano and expressed support for her endeavors. He also underscored that he will always be grateful that the actress was a part of his life.

“Malaki rin naman ang naitulong at naiambag sa buhay ko ni Liza at hindi ko yun kinakalimutan,” Diaz said. “Kung kailanganin ako ni Liza, kung meron siyang gustong sabihin, kung meron siyang nais na bigyan ng closure sa amin, I’m very willing to talk to her.”
(Liza helped and contributed a lot to my life, and I will never forget that. If Liza needs me, if she has something to say, or if she wants to give us closure, I’m very willing to talk to her.)
“And kung makakatulong, tutulong tayo ng walang kapalit na porsyento man yan o ano. At the end of the day, ang lagi kong nare-remember ay ‘yung nagkaroon kami ng relationship bilang manager-talent,” he added.
(And if there would be an opportunity to help, we will do so without asking anything in return. At the end of the day, what I will always remember is the relationship we had as a manager and talent.).
