Prescott had the worst season of his career last year throwing 15 interceptions.

Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless is a Dallas Cowboys fan. So he has experienced the agony of not winning the Super Bowl title in a long long time. He has been on the Dak Prescott hype train since he was drafted in 2016. After seven seasons of Prescott failing to deliver a Super Bowl title, Bayless has finally gotten off that train.

Prescott was recently place as the 9th best QB in the list of top 10 QBs in the league. On his show Undisputed, Bayless officially got off the Prescott hype train and said that he has seen enough to do so. Prescott led the league in interceptions last season.

“I’ve seen enough. I loved Dak from the start, but I look back now and I think maybe I gave him more credit than he deserved.” Bayless said on the show. He went on to say that Prescott is the ultimate “vomit ride”, referring to his fear of the roller coaster rides. Prescott has been criticized for his lack of consistent elite play and Bayless has apparently seen enough.

The Cowboys have a strong overall roster and will be expected to make a deep playoff run. It all comes down to Prescott. If he has a great season the Cowboys will be in the Super Bowl mix, but if he has another stinker like last season, with Trey Lance as the back up, the Cowboys might move on from Prescott and give Lance a chance. They begin their campaign against the New York Giants on September 10.

Dak Prescott is not reading in to the Trey Lance trade too much

The Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones made a splash recently by signing former third overall pick Trey Lance as Dak Prescott’s back up. He did that without consulting his starting quarterback. “We didn’t tell anybody until we did. Period,” Jones told the media about the trade. He didn’t even tell the head coach Mike McCarty. Talk about taking a risk.

Fans assumed that this would create friction within the team. Prescott however, suggested that people are reading too much into the situation. “Yeah, I think they read a little too much into it,” Prescott said in an interview with Yahoo Sports on Wednesday. He further continued saying, “As I’ve said before and I made it known, I understand that’s the front office and they have a job to do, and I believe in everything that they’re doing. Whether it’s additions or trades to this team, they’re doing it for the betterment of the whole team.”

Lance was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. After a rough start to his Niners career, Lance was traded to the Cowboys. He only played 8 games in his two years with the 49ers. Prescott will be under pressure to perform at an elite level with a first round pick backing him up. The Cowboys begin their season against the New York Giants in week 1.
