Jack Antonoff isn’t shaking off the haters when it comes to defending his longtime friend Taylor Swift. The award-winning producer doubled down on his claim that the “Cruel Summer” singer is the GOAT of today’s music industry in a new interview with the The Los Angeles Times, going so far as to compare questioning Swift’s songwriting abilities to “challenging someone’s faith in God.”

“You just don’t go there,” he told the publication, dropping a warning that anyone who comes for Swift is fair game for a roasting. “I’m a little bitch sometimes,” Antonoff – who has worked with Swift on multiple albums since 2012 – admitted during the interview, which was conducted a few days before the 2024 Grammy Awards on Feb. 4. He added, “But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.”

Case in point: he previously called Damon Albarn an “herb” on X (formerly Twitter) in 2022 when the Blur lead singer questioned whether the Midnights musician wrote her own music. After Swift weighed in, calling the allegations “completely false and so damaging,” Albarn apologized, saying his words had been taken out of context for “clickbait.”

While Swift has put most of her rumored feuds to rest in recent years, Antonoff couldn’t resist commenting on Kanye West, who recently name-dropped the “Karma” singer in “Carnival,” a single off of his new album, Vultures 1. “[Kanye West] just needs his diaper changed so badly,” Antonoff told the Los Angeles Times.

It looks like Antonoff isn’t alone in his assessment of Swift’s songwriting talent, as the “Anti-Hero” singer won Album of the Year and Pop Vocal Album Grammys for Midnights at this year’s awards show. Antonoff also scooped up a Grammys producer win for his work on the chart-topping 2022 album.

For now, Antonoff is staying mum on his latest collaboration with Swift, her highly-anticipated album, The Tortured Poets Department. Swifties believe the upcoming album, which will be released on April 19, will be about the singer’s six-year relationship (and breakup) with her ex, Joe Alwyn.

However, the singer’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce teased that he’s a big fan of the album, calling it “unbelievable” at the Super Bowl. “I have heard some of it,” he said at the Las Vegas game, per Deadline. “I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops.”
