With Super Bowl-winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his fiancee Brittany Matthews expecting their first child next year, Matthews showed off the progress of the child’s nursery.

Matthews, 25, and Mahomes, 25, announced their engagement in early September, when the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback picked up his Super Bowl ring, and they revealed they were expecting their first child at the end of the month.

Matthews, a certified personal trainer, took to her Instagram on Thursday, showing off the progress on the nursery.

She first shared a photo of the new chair that arrived for the nursery today, along with one of her adorable pit bulls.

The photo also showcased a crescent moon on the wall with black stars, as she captioned the snap, ‘Still waiting on these stars… but the chair came in today.’

Matthews also shared a photo of the new dresser, adding, ‘The most beautiful handles for the most beautiful baby girl.’

She then shared a quick video of the nursery, with the first shot featuring a small basketball hoop for their daughter.

The hoop was placed below signs that read, ‘Good night sleep tight’ and ‘Love you to the moon,’ as Matthews explained, ‘OK gonna give y’all a little rundown, a quick little video of the nursery.’

The video also showcased a new stroller, plus two bassinets and a crib for their first child, with pink drapes for the window.

Mahomes grew up in Tyler, Texas, and Matthews was his high school sweetheart, who he’s been with for years.

The quarterback was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, and went on to become the NFL MVP in 2018.

In just his third season, Mahomes, the son of former Major League Baseball pitcher Pat Mahomes, lead his team to a Super Bowl win in 2019, where he was named the Super Bowl MVP.
