Taylor Swift has shared reflections on her whirlwind tour of Sydney, now that she has wrapped up the Australian leg of her Eras Tour and moved on to Singapore. Taking to Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the global superstar paid homage to the legions of fans who witnessed her performances in the Harbour City, marveling at their immense enthusiasm and passion.

“Sydney, Sydney, Sydney, Sydney… what a whirlwind of endless magical moments with you,” the 34-year-old expressed alongside a carousel of captivating images.

The one-woman economy proudly noted that her Eras Tour marked the first time a performer played at Accor Stadium in Sydney four times, before delving into some of her cherished memories from the sold-out shows.

“I’ll never forget singing with Sabrina [Carpenter], the chaotic acoustic mashups, and the crowds that were louder (singing AND screaming) than I thought humanly possible,” she reminisced, encapsulating the electric energy and shared experiences that defined her time in Sydney.

“I want to express my gratitude to all of the Aussie fans for their positivity, passion, humor, and boundless energy. Love you forever,” she continued.

This isn’t the first time Swift has shown appreciation for Sydney. During her final performance on Monday, February 26, the Blank Space hitmaker showered compliments on her adoring audience. “Looking at this crowd, the biggest crowd we’ve had at our four shows here!” she exclaimed, igniting rapturous applause.

The Eras Tour drew in over 600,000 attendees during its Australian leg. A record-breaking 96,000 fans graced each of her three nights in Melbourne, while Sydney attracted an additional 83,000 Swifties at each of her four shows.

The pop sensation reportedly raked in $25 million per Sydney show, contributing to a staggering $145 million injection into the NSW economy as thousands of local and interstate fans flocked to the city for the must-see event of the year.

“The impact of Taylor Swift’s tour on host cities is undeniable,” remarked Michael Johnson, chief executive of Accommodation Australia, in an interview with The Daily Telegraph. “Based on past calculations, her shows can inject between $150 and $200 million into a state’s economy, just as we saw in Melbourne.”

The NSW economy experienced significant growth across various sectors, with hotel rooms fully booked, restaurants and bars bustling, and fans indulging in merchandise purchases.

Tax lawyer Harry Dell disclosed that Swift would have paid 30 percent tax to the Australian Tax Office on her concert earnings. This translates to approximately $10 million in tax revenue collected by the Australian government from Swift’s four Sydney shows alone.

In Victoria, Swift made a substantial impact by injecting $174 million into the state economy after her three Melbourne shows. Fans collectively spent $86 million in the accommodation, hospitality, and tourism sector, with CBD spending experiencing a remarkable 30 percent increase compared to the previous month.
