'Alyana' Yassi Pressman resists being 'third wheel' to Coco Martin, Julia Montes

MANILA, Philippines — Netizens took to social media their reaction to Tuesday night’s episode of “Ang Probinsyano,” wherein Coco Martin’s leading lady in the hit ABS-CBN series, Alyana, played by Yassi Pressman, was seen dating another guy.

“Technically Alyana is still married to Cardo so why portray a scene where she went to a dinner date with another guy?” a netizen pointed out on Twitter.

The following day, Wednesday, “Alyana” became one of the top-trending topics on Twitter.

In a recent interview with Philstar.com following her launch as the face of Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+, Yassi refused to give details on “Ang Probinsyano” or to rationalize what her character, Alyana, is doing in the series.

Unlike in the series, though, she insisted that she has no romantic feelings for Coco, who plays Cardo in the show.

“We’re good friends,” she said of her real relationship with Coco.

“I’m still single. I think I’m going to be single for a while,” Yassi declared.

As such, Yassi denies being the “third wheel” to the rumored real-life romance between Coco and Julia Montes.

“No, that’s not true…Me CocoYass fans, may CocoJul fans. But aside from that, may CocoJam, may CocoBel. And it’s nice that we all try to tell everyone to respect everyone also,” said Yassi, the star of the upcoming romantic comedy “Pambansang Third Wheel,” which will be showing in March.

Since she is not dating anyone, she spent last Valentine’s with her dad. According to her, there were two Valentine’s Days wherein she ran for a cause with her dad.

Yassi also denies competing with Maja Salvador, although they have been known for their dance showdown videos on “ASAP.”

“I don’t plan (my showdowns with Maja). I just really have fun…Lalo na ako, when I’m onstage, it feels like home for me!”

This summer, many are looking at Yassi for a “fitspiration,” though she admitted that she, in turn, looks at Anne Curtis and Solenn Heussaff for fitness inspiration.

“Siguro diet lang din talaga. But I would say na do not deprive naman yourself,” Yassi told those aiming for an ideal beach body like hers.

“Siguro it’s okay na maging masaya ka sa konting sweets or carbs, okay lang basta you find that balance… Basta live your life and be happy!”
