A Kansas City Chiefs jersey autographed by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce was the star of a fundraiser for a Canadian charity – but it appears it might be fake.

A signed Kansas City Chiefs jersey by Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift was recently auctioned for a whopping $21K at a Canadian charity event, however it might have turned out to be a fake. The jersey failed to pass authentication with it not being able to be confirmed whether the power couple signed the jersey.

The charity had addressed the issue on social media – confirming that the buyer would receive a full refund after the jersey could not be authenticated.

A statement read: “In light of the questions surrounding the authenticity of some of the items up for auction during the Curling Event, the Guelph Wish Fund for Children would like to address this issue. All items, including the jersey signed by Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, were generously donated at this third-party community event.

“As a result, we are currently unable to verify the authenticity of these items and ask that any winning bidders with concerns or questions to please reach out to the event organizers. Our organization is committed to transparency and would like to apologize for any confusion this situation has caused.”

The Kelce jersey was initially said to be sold in a silent auction before interest became so high that they were in a position in which they had to put it up online.

The charity had reportedly hoped to sell the jersey for around $5,000 before instead making $21,000, which will now not be given to the charity and refunded to the initial purchaser.
