Five months after Barbie Forteza confirmed her breakup with longtime boyfriend Jak Roberto, Forteza would rather not discuss her past romance with the actor out of respect for their relationship.

“I’m so sorry, but I prefer not to talk about it to respect the relationship. But I’m very happy right now,” Forteza told reporters on the sidelines of her new drama “Beauty Empire.” Her remarks came after she was asked if she had already moved on from her breakup with the Kapuso star.

Forteza and Roberto have been in a relationship for seven years, having met on the set of the indie film “Laut.” Earlier this year, the actress announced that they had parted ways, although she didn’t disclose the reason behind their split.

The actress, who will turn 28 on July 31, said she is nonetheless satisfied with the stream of blessings coming her way.

“I have a horror film coming up, ‘P77.’ I have a show, ‘Beauty Empire,’ and I will also have another movie coming up called ‘Kontrabida Academy,’” she said. “I have a lot of things going on. My birthday is coming up. It’s not even my birthday yet, but I already have a lot of gifts coming my way).”

When asked if she is entertaining any suitors, the “Pulang Araw” star said she doesn’t have any suitors at the moment, but she is focused on enjoying life as a single woman.

“I honestly don’t have any. I’m not joking. I have no suitors. I am still enjoying my time as a single woman. I am open to meeting people because it’s nice to be outgoing and be out there,” she said.

Staying on the topic, Forteza explained that she has a lot of priorities at the moment, opting to think about getting in a new relationship when she has “more time.”

“I guess it has something to do with me being busy right now. [Maybe] when I have more time to think about it, and I wouldn’t be selfish when it comes to the time spent with a partner,” she said.

At some point during the ambush interview, the topic of Forteza’s close friendship with “Beauty Empire” co-star Kyline Alcantara came up, where the former was asked if they ever talked about their respective love lives.

Reports of Alcantara recently ending her relationship with basketball player Kobe Paras made waves last April. The latter’s mother, Jackie Forster, defended Paras in a lengthy video statement, while accusing the actress of involving the baller in a “toxic relationship.”

“Of course, we talk about love life because we love our lives,” Forteza said in response, skillfully evading the question. This made the press laugh in response.

Forteza and Alcantara are the lead stars of the revenge drama “Beauty Empire,” which talks about the uglier sides of the beauty industry. Also part of the cast are Ruffa Gutierrez, Sam Concepcion, Chai Fonacier, Sid Lucero, Gabby Padilla, Choi Bo-min, Aaron Maniego, and Gloria Diaz.
