Miley Cyrus insists she has ‘custom Gucci knickers’ after ‘forgetting’ underwear

Miley Cyrus has been forced to clarify that racy remark she made at the Grammys last weekend, confirming she had a special pair of Gucci panties made up for her

Miley Cyrus confessed she was wearing custom-made Gucci knickers at the Grammys, after claiming she “forgot” to put on underwear for the big night.

The Flowers hitmaker rocked an incredible chainmail dress made out of thousands of gold safety pins on the night, before changing into a plunging jumpsuit and a dress slit all the way to her thigh. While accepting the gong for Record of the Year, Miley thanked “everyone that’s standing on this stage right now Tom, Tyler, Michael and Greg. Our teams, my team, Crush, Columbia, my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look.”

She went on to quip: “I don’t think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!” She then jogged off stage clutching her award, in a racy burgundy gown covered in glitter, and with a matching clutch bag over one arm.

But now Miley has cleared up that it was all a joke, explaining: “PS I was only kidding… I had on matching custom @Gucci panties. Thank you for the head to toe chocolate custom couture Sabato [De Sarno], you don’t forget a thing. Love you all.”

She gushed over meeting Mariah Carey, Meryl Streep and Mark Ronson, who presented her awards: “First Mariah then Meryl & Mark. It’s so fun to share the stage with my friends. This third photo sums up our relationship perfectly. You 3 wanting me to do all the talking until I start talking…”

Miley went on to tweet to fans: “Currently living out my dream of laying in bed watching myself perform at the Grammys.” Before saying: “I’d like to personally thank my hair, @bobmackie, and of course the longtime members of my very MAJOR band / crew / all the new talent who joined us for Flowers LIVE! This wouldn’t happen without you.”

Her first chaimail dress was constructed of 14,000 safety pins and adorned with antique French beads, hailing from Maison Margiela. It took a whopping 675 hours to construct, with Miley gushing: “THANK YOU @jgalliano @lexyroche and the entire @maisonmargiela team for all your hard work, creative genius and for making dreams come true! Love you!!”

She paired the ensemble with a pair of yellow suede heels from Christian Louboutin, to create a style “different than last year”. Her hair stylist Bob Recine told People magazine of her lion’s mane look: “I’ve been working with Miley for a long time and tonight we wanted to create different than last year, with a style that felt like it had a ’70s, Barbarella feel while still having a modern, punk edge.

“By creating a big hair look, while still leaving some of the teasing visible, it allows the look to maintain a fresh, sexy feeling.” Throughout the night, she also donned a beaded mini dress from Bob Mackie and the one-shouldered Gucci gown.
