Desert Planet: Starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, sci-fi sequel rakes in massive box office.

Dune: Part 2, directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Austin Butler, and others, had an impressive first weekend at the global box office, grossing 180 million dollars (while studio estimates are at 178 million dollars). The film brought in approximately 83 million dollars from North America and 97 million dollars from international markets. With overwhelmingly positive reception, Dune: Part 2 is expected to have a successful run, aiming for a lifetime total surpassing 800 million dollars.

Dune: Part 2 has had a stellar start at the box office and is projected to surpass the first part’s collections in its second week. The film is particularly excelling in premium formats, with many shows in North America filling up or selling out through the end of March.
