Fate has its ways of guiding two hearts toward each other, but so do online dating apps — and content creator couple Rei Germar and Miguel Romulo are living testaments to it.

The two, who have been in a relationship for more than a decade, announced the news of their engagement on Instagram on Friday.

Romulo shared a video of his proposal at the beach, saying: “I’m finally engaged to my best friend! I wanted to say so much! But my brain was like: kneel kneel kneel!”

Fellow influencers and celebrities showered the newly-engaged couple with well wishes in the comments section.

In one of their YouTube vlogs posted six years ago, the two opened up about their love story. Romulo followed Germar after seeing her on his Instagram’s “Explore” section, and they later on matched through a dating app.

In December 2023, Germar posted a TikTok video with the filter “Your Relationship Status in 2024” as if hinting at something. Fans, meanwhile, flocked to support the two for a possible wedding proposal.
