Star Cinema has announced a new release date for the much-anticipated romantic comedy My Love Will Make You Disappear, top-billed by Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.
Set to be their first major film project together, My Love Will Make You Disappear follows Paulo and Kim’s collaboration in the Philippine adaptation of the K-drama What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and their roles in the TV series Linlang.
On January 11, 2025, the film production arm of ABS-CBN shared on social media that the premiere has been shifted to March 26, 2025, instead of the originally scheduled February 12, 2025.
In the statement, Star Cinema highlighted that this adjustment is part of their strategy to expand the studio’s international presence, particularly targeting the North American market.
The full statement reads: “As part of Star Cinema’s commitment to bringing Philippine films to a global audience, we are excited to announce the new playdate for the much-anticipated romantic comedy ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear,’ starring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino. The film will now appear in cinemas worldwide starting March 26.
“The move comes in light of new developments and exciting opportunities to expand into the North American market.
“We are happy to share that global theatrical distributor Abramorama and award-winning international entertainment marketing firm Amorette Jones Media Consulting are collaborating again with Star Cinema in bringing the beautiful story to even more viewers as they believe in the film’s universal appeal that can captivate a broader audience.”

KIM CHIU-PAULO AVELINO MOVIE: PLAYDATE ISSUE?
The statement was made after fans took to social media to voice their disappointment over rumors that the movie’s release date had been changed without reportedly informing the actors.
The speculation started when a photo from SM Cinemas circulated online, suggesting the film would now debut in April rather than the initially planned February 12. This news surprised fans, particularly those who had allegedly secured tickets for the original release date.
The rumors intensified when Paulo posted a cryptic message on social media, hinting at a scenario of not completing a film project.
The Kapamilya actor wrote, “Ma-experience nga na hindi tumapos ng pelikula.”
Moreover, both Paulo and Kim are said to have unfollowed Star Cinema’s Instagram account amid these circulating rumors. However, it remains uncertain if they were following the account initially.
