Growing up as a teen star in the ‘80s, it has always been public knowledge that Lotlot de Leon is the eldest adopted daughter of Christopher de Leon and Nora Aunor. Fellow actress Matet de Leon is her younger sister who was also adopted by the then couple.

After failing to attend a family reunion held earlier this month at Nora’s house, netizens were quick to castigate her for being the only sibling absent from the occasion. It’s no secret that Lotlot and her mom have not been in contact with each other for a long while now.

Last January 18, the 50-year-old actress shared a post on her Instagram account talking about the rights of adopted people. Netizens were quick to relate this to the current status of her relationship with her mother although Lotlot did not mention any specific details explaining the reason behind the post.

She wrote, “So let’s just put this out here already!
Yes I am adopted and yes I am also human! I am not a commodity, I am my own person who [has] feelings too.

I am grateful for many things in my life.

I am grateful for all the good and bad things that I have been through because those are what molded me to be who I am today!

I accept what was and what is!

I will keep on moving forward owning this life that was given to me.
