SB19’s comeback started on a strong note as “Dam” debuted at the top spot of Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart, making them the first Filipino act to achieve this milestone.
Billboard announced “Dam’s” rank on its official site on Tuesday, March 11, covering the tracking period of March 15. The World Digital Song Sales is a weekly chart that ranks the 10 best-selling digital singles.

This is not the first time the quintet made it to the World Digital Song Sales chart. Their smash hit “Gento” entered the eighth spot in June 2023.
SB19 celebrated the milestone on its official social media platforms while thanking their dedicated fans, or A’TIN.
“‘DAM’ # 1 on Billboard World Digital Song Sales. You push us to new heights, far beyond what we thought was possible. Thank you A’tin, for your constant support,” their post read.
“Dam,” released on Feb. 28, is part of the quintet’s upcoming EP “Simula at Wakas” slated for an April release. It is described as a single that combines the elements of their past songs “What?” and “Gento.”
“We’ve always pushed boundaries in terms of music,” they said in a press statement. “For this particular track, we’ve built on the elements that made ‘What?’ and ‘Gento’ resonate so strongly with the general public, but we’ve also uncharted sonic territories that gave us the creative freedom to truly express ourselves.”

In an interview with INQUIRER.net, SB19 said they acknowledge the pressure to top “Gento” with “Dam” and their upcoming EP. However, they noted that it is meant to fully establish themselves as a group instead of simply introducing themselves.
“In all honesty, never din kami nag-expect ng something big or something na hit kay ‘Gento.’ We just released it. We never expected na maghi-hit siya globally. With ‘Dam,’ parang medyo gan’un, enough said na siya, SB19 release lang. Let’s see [how it will turn out] kasi meron naman kaming EP na total banger,” Stell said.
(Honestly, we didn’t expect something big with “Gento.” We just released it. We never expected that it would be a global hit. With “Dam,” it’s sort of the same. It’s enough said. It is an SB19 release. Let’s see how it will turn out because we have an EP that is a total banger.)
