The nephew of BLACKPINK member Jisoo will be studying in the Philippines.

The older sister of Jisoo, Kim Jiyoon, shared a photo on her Instagram Stories showing her son, Minsung, at the airport as he prepared to travel to the Philippines for his studies.

“Have a good time studying in the Philippines, Minsung,” she wrote alongside the snapshot.

According to reports, Jiyoon previously worked as a flight attendant before resigning after the birth of her first child. She is now a mother of two and works as an influencer and freelance model.

In September 2023, Jiyoon showed her support during the final stop of BLACKPINK’s Born Pink World Tour at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. After the concert, she shared a heartfelt post on Instagram with a photo of herself and Jisoo backstage.

“Blackpink in your area 🖤🩷 Our beloved BLACKPINK members were truly the best….👍✨ And our Jisoo!! I was so happy to see your solo stage in person. 🥹🌹 I love you 😘!!!!!” Jiyoon wrote as per English translation.

Jisoo debuted as a member of BLACKPINK under YG Entertainment in August 2016 with the release of the group’s single album Square One. In December 2023, BLACKPINK renewed their contracts for group activities, although each member did not renew their contracts for solo activities.

In February 2024, Jisoo launched her own label, BLISSOO, to oversee her solo projects.

She visited the Philippines in March for the Manila leg of her Lights, Love, Action! fan meeting tour. Manila served as the first stop of her first-ever solo tour.

“At first, I was very nervous. But as I came on the stage and I saw all my Blinks, I was overjoyed,” she said during the fan meeting through the interpreter.

The fan meet featured a Q&A segment and live performances to promote her solo debut EP Amortage, which included her hit track “Flower.”

“Right now, having this time, I guess it was so much fun that the time just flew by. Spending time with the Blinks, I really just want to tell you how happy I am to be with all of you,” she said at the fan meeting.
