Kim Chiu, a Filipina-Chinese actress, expressed how honored she was to be recognized as one of the Quezon City’s ‘top taxpayers’ in their industry.

On Wednesday, March 5, Kim took to her Instagram to upload photos she took with her new award from the Bureau of Internal Revenue or the BIR.

According to Kim, it is important for everyone to understand their ‘tax obligations’ to the country. “Honored to be recognized as one of the top taxpayers in the media industry. As responsible citizens, it’s important to understand our tax obligations and how they contribute to nation-building. Thank you, BIR, for this recognition. Let’s continue to support a stronger economy together!” the It’s Showtime host wrote online.

Halfway through her post, Kim shared her hopes of inspiring more individuals to ‘uphold integrity and responsibility’ with tax compliance as well.

“May this award inspire more individuals and businesses to uphold integrity and responsibility in tax compliance. Together, let’s continue working toward a stronger and more prosperous nation. Thank you, and mabuhay ang lahat ng mga Pilipino!” Kim wrote in her now-viral Instagram post.

In the comment section, many netizens expressed their delight for Kim and her new BIR award. “Proud of you, Kim. Pareho kayo ng Ate Kris mo sa aspetong iyan. During her time in showbiz, Kris was also acknowledged as a top celebrity taxpayer many times,” one netizen had shared online. Meanwhile, another one also wrote, “I stan the right person talaga! Been a fan since PBB days pa!” Aside from Kim, other celebrities including Vice Ganda, Julia Barretto and Catriona Gray were also awarded by the BIR for being a ‘top taxpayer’ also.

Meanwhile, Kim Chiu was amused after Mimiyuuuh tagged her in one of her viral posts. On Instagram, Mimiyuuuh greeted everyone on Lunar New Year and sang ‘Peng You,’ a song that Kim once sang back in 2019, which was posted on YouTube. Needless to say, Kim was stunned after hearing the cover.
