For many celebrities, showbiz isn’t just about fame and glamor—it’s also a way to provide for their families.

This was one of the reasons Marian Rivera stepped into the limelight.

She wanted to help her mom, who was then working abroad.

Now that she’s enjoying the rewards of her hard work, Marian remains grounded and mindful of how she spends her money.

“Hindi ako gastador talaga, e,” she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview on March 18, 2025, at her launch as the new brand ambassador of Palawan Group of Companies (PGC).

Now that she’s a mom, Marian continues to apply the same financial discipline—this time with a clear goal: to secure a stable and comfortable future for her two children, Zia and Sixto.

So yun ang goal naming mag-asawa talaga.”

MARIAN RIVERA ON TEACHING KIDS ABOUT FINANCE MANAGEMENT

For now, the two kids are not allowed to handle money.

She said: “So far, ngayon, hindi pa sila nakakahawak ng pera, to be honest.

“Of course, may awareness sila kasi kapag bumibili ka ng stuffed toy, or may card kang ginagamit or may money kang binabayad kapag nagbibigay ka.

Marian acknowledged that her children are growing up with more privileges than she had during her own childhood.

That’s why, when the time is right, she plans to teach them about the value of money and responsible spending habits.

“So pupunta tayo diyan.

“But for now, kami munang mag-asawa at yung mga kasama namin sa bahay, higit lalo yung pamilya ko.”
