Kapamilya actress and content creator Ivana Alawi opened up about her past experiences in dating, revealing that she once took on the role of a “sugar mommy” to men who, in hindsight, took advantage of her generosity.

Ivana Alawi admits she was once a “Proud Sugar Mommy”

In her first-ever appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on April 9, Alawi candidly admitted that she had financially supported two former flings—one from outside the entertainment industry and another who is a known actor.

“Yes, I was a proud sugar mama—baklang-bakla,” she said with a laugh, acknowledging her past without shame. “They weren’t even officially my boyfriends, and that’s what makes it even worse. But I’m naturally generous and love giving gifts.”

Alawi shared that her first experience involved a non-showbiz personality whom she supported by providing food, gas money, and occasional allowances.

She added, “Mapagbigay talaga ako Tito Boy. Mapagregalo ako.”

Alawi then opened up about two men from her past — one a non-showbiz individual and the other, an actor — who became freeloaders during their time together.

The first was a man outside the entertainment industry whom she supported financially by providing food, gas, and occasional allowance.

“Akala ko kasi mapuputulan siya ng kuryente. ‘Kala ko may mangyayari sa kanya ‘pag ‘di ko nabigyan ng allowance kaya ‘yon,” she shared.

She clarified that she didn’t give him money on a regular basis, explaining, “Hindi naman monthly, minsan-minsan lang, every three months ganon.”

The second was an actor whom she frequently treated to dinners, hotel stays, and branded gifts.

“Kapag nagdi-date kami, ako ang nagbabayad. Pati hotel nito ako rin. Mga regalo, branded. Nanghihingi ng watch… lahat ako,” she said.

But when he eventually asked for a luxury watch, Ivana drew the line.

“Yung relo kasi hindi ko na niregalo kasi parang sobra ka naman–– kapatid ko muna unahin ko bigyan ng relo bago ikaw,” she explained.

Looking back, the Batang Quiapo star realized she deserved better treatment.

“Na-realize ko maganda naman ako, hindi naman ako chaka. At saka na-realize ko bagets naman ako. Hindi ako matanda. Parang, ‘Bakit mo ko pineperahan?’”

She continued by emphasizing that taking advantage of someone’s financial generosity is wrong, regardless of age or status.

“Pero dapat hindi mo rin peperahan ang matanda at mga bagets, ha! Dapat in general, ‘wag ka na mamera. Nasa relasyon ka para sa pag-ibig hindi para sa pera.”

Alawi clarified that she was never in official relationships with the men in question, but her naturally generous nature led her to give even without a formal label.

“Hindi, hindi ko naging jowa. ‘Yun nga masama, pero okay naman ako kasi mapagbigay talaga ako, mapagregalo ako,” she said.

Despite her past experiences, Ivana maintains a positive outlook on love. In a previous vlog, she revealed she is currently dating but still considers herself single. She also shared her preference to date someone outside the showbiz industry.
