Alden Richards has been without a girlfriend for two decades. According to the Kapuso actor, working at a young age is what he focused his time on, so he put his love life aside.

“‘Yung love kasi, Tito Boy, right now, ang understanding ko sa kanya is a feeling, it’s an emotion. And ‘yung mga bagay po when it comes to decision ma­king, ang laking factor po ng emotions do’n. So when you’re emotional and making decisions, sometimes the effect of that in your life is rather good or bad. So right now I don’t want to think of love as a mental thing to feel or a mental thing to go with. For me ‘yung love is something that makes you feel good. I don’t want to be too mental about it,” makahulugang pahayag sa amin ni Alden sa Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

It is reported that Alden and Kathryn Bernardo’s relationship with each other is more than just friends. Is the actor courting the girl? “What Kath and I have now is I should say really deep. And since I got the chance to really know her now personally, I have discovered a lot about her. Our similarities and differences, and how we view life. I really appreciate the things he opens up to me. And welcoming her, welcoming me to her life, of course the family. I have also met the family. I can go to Kath’s house when I have time.

“I saw how humble Kath’s family is. We both grew up in the province. I’m in Laguna, he’s in Nueva Ecija, Cabanatuan. I see how similar our families are in terms of how we see life. In terms of how we deal with everyday. And being humane, what Kath is, is the big factor of the family. That’s what I appreciate. And welcoming me to her home, that’s how they treated me. I didn’t feel like I was a different person. Right now I don’t want to rush what we are both going through. I think she has all the time in the world now. She’s been able to try new things as well for herself,” shared the Kapuso actor.

Alden is very happy with what he and Kathryn have now. The actor admitted that the girl is always in his heart and mind. “It’s the same, just enjoying, and exploring every moment of it. So far I have enjoyed him, Tito Boy. I have discovered so much about myself. How am I? When it comes to romance, of course you have to take care of your partner. I can see in myself that, of course, he is first before myself, the things that I have not done before. Because before I only cared for myself. Of course so I can take care of the people around me. But now with that exploration, I see the… ‘Ah, I’m like this, what?’” he explained.

Alden and Kathryn got closer to each other while shooting Hello, Love, Again in Canada a few months ago. This project from Star Cinema and GMA Pictures can now be seen in theaters. Alden said he feels that Kathryn knows his true desire for the girl.

“I think so. Right now because we are just very blessed with this opportunity that we have right now. And the friendship that we have right now is deep and special. The big thing is that we are able to do more correctly the things we should do in terms of the film. The time that we had when we were shooting in Canada, I got to know him better,” the young man confessed.
