Richards shared the exciting news during the recent contract signing between the Viva Group of Companies and his company, Myriad Entertainment, for a joint venture, Inquirer reported.

“Right now, siguro pwede ko nang i-share na meron pong nag-ooffer since I’ve been very vocal about being a pilot so there’s been an aviation school in Clark that offered a scholarship to me to be a pilot,” he revealed.

The former Eat Bulaga host emphasized that his decision to accept the scholarship is also in honor of his father’s dream. He hopes to begin his pilot training this year.

“Sobrang excited din ako saka ko na lang po idi-discuss kung sino ‘yung nag-offer ng scholarship once it’s final already,” he said.

“It has been my dad’s dream. Sabi ko, ‘Sige dad since medyo 59, 58 ka na ako na lang. Hopefully kung kaya this year matapos ko ‘yung course, then lipad lipad na tayo.’”

Richards also reassured that he has no fear of heights, citing his skydiving experience with *Hello, Love, Again* co-star Kathryn Bernardo.

“[N]ag-skydive nga po ako sa Dubai. Mahilig po ako sa mga matataas na lugar. It gives a bird’s eye view of everything […] I love to fly. Let’s go,” he said enthusiastically.

Richards joins fellow actor Xian Lim, who recently earned his private pilot license.

Alden Richards, born as Richard Reyes Faulkerson Jr. on January 2, 1992, is a well-known Kapuso actor, model, and recording artist. He is recognized as Asia’s Multimedia Star because of his work as a TV host, music artist, endorser, and award-winning actor. Alden is known for being courteous, generous, and kind-hearted, in addition to his talent and successful showbiz career. He rose to fame as the love team partner of Maine Mendoza but both stars have evolved into individual superstars.

The box office hit “Hello, Love, Again” reached more than P1.4 billion worldwide. This number was provided by GMA News, and it was garnered from the figures in the global box office. Its prequel, “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” was the first Filipino film that earned more than P1 billion gross. Aside from the worldwide achievement, it also broke records in Middle East.

Earlier, Alden Richards attended Maine Mendoza’s 30th birthday celebration at Uma Nota Manila, along with Eat Bulaga! hosts and the Sotto family. Maine and Alden’s love team, AlDub, became a massive hit in 2015, but Maine later revealed they were never in a real relationship. Photos from the party, shared on social media, showed Alden partying with Maine alongside Vic Sotto, Pauleen Luna-Sotto, and other Eat Bulaga! hosts.
