The real identity of award-winning actor Piolo Pascual has been one of the longest controversies in the showbiz industry.

KAMI learned that an old interview of Piolo setting the record straight about his identity resurfaced on social media.

In a YouTube video, Piolo had an interview with Boy Abunda where he was asked whether he is gay or not.

“Were you not affected with what people are saying that you are a lover of gay? Rich gay?” Boy Abunda asked.

“No,” Piolo directly answered.

The TV host then asked: “You are not even bothered when people say you are gay?”

“Because you know, it’s not true. I mean you know, you know yourself better than they are, than they do,” Piolo said.

“For me kasi, what they do matter if they really know me. So what you see in me is the real me, I’m not hiding anything,” he added.

The actor was asked if he would ever fall in love with someone who is gay.

“Naku, naku, nag-isip ako don,” Piolo said.

“’Wag naman ganong tanong, hindi ko ata kaya ‘yun. I don’t wanna be discriminatory, I don’t wanna discriminate people. As what I’ve said, I’m open but to a certain extent,” he continued.

“’Di ko yata… Ayaw ko. ‘di ako ready,” the actor added.

In 2019, Piolo challenged a basher who called him and his son Iñigo gay. He said “suntukan tayo!” as a response to the basher.
