Dream come true para kay Iñigo Pascual ang performance niya sa halftime show sa laban ng NBA teams na Los Angeles Clippers at Oklahoma Thunder noong November 18 sa Staples Center ng Los Angeles, California.

Ito ay para selebrasyon ng Filipino Heritage Night kung saan kinanta ni Iñigo ang pinasikat niyang kanta na Dahil Sa Iyo at ang bago niyang single na Catching Feelings.

“I can’t even put to words, grabe yung experience siyempre. Pangarap ko talaga to be able to perform at Staples Center,” sabi ni Iñigo.

“Nung pumasok ako dun, di ako makapaniwala na I was actually going there as a performer already.

“Dati, pumupunta ako dun as supporter, manonood lang. Hanggang ngayon, di pa rin nagsi-sink in sa akin na nakapag-perform na ako sa Staples Center. Nakakagulat lang na nangyari yun.”

Balita rin na nakipag-collaborate si Iñigo sa choreographer na si Phil Tayag, na choreographer din ni Bruno Mars.

“Oo, yung ‘Catching Feelings,’ bago kong kanta. We collaborated, we put some of my choreography and choreography ni Phil Tayag. He is also from Jabbawockeez.

“Malaking karangalan to be able to work with him. In the future, sana makapagtrabaho pa kami.

“We were able to perform sa ASAP Bay Area, doon ko siya na-meet, sa ASAP sa San Jose [California]. Masaya ako, we were able to reach out to him and we collaborated.”

Sa isang interview sa ama niyang si Piolo Pascual, sinabi nito na malaki ang posibilidad na manirahan si Iñigo sa Los Angeles alang-alang sa international singing career.

“It’s in the talks, pinag-uusapan namin. Siyempre, nandun yung mga opportunities, mahirap naman kung pabalik-balik.

“I always see this is going to be my home. It’s still gonna be my homebase, mas pipiliin ko na dito sa ‘Pinas.

“Pero if ever there are opportunities, siguro two months, mag-stay ako dun kung kailangan pero I’m still gonna come back here.”

Nakapanayam ng pep.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at Cinema News si Iñigo sa Star Magic Gives Back event nitong December 1, Sunday sa GRACES (Home Of The Aged) sa Quezon City.

Isa rin si Iñigo sa performers sa opening ng 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games noong Nobyembre 30, Sabado sa Philippine Arena, Bocaue, Bulacan.

“Grabe yung rehearsals namin dun, as in buong araw kaming nagre-rehearse,” kuwento ni Iñigo.

“It was a good experience, yung production was from America so nakaka-excite to have a different production to work with.

“It’s something na nakakatuwang gawin, you were able to experience something na di mo pa nagagawa.

“Siyempre like in the Philippine Arena, it’s my first time performing there as well. The whole thing was a good experience as a whole and to be part of the opening of the SEA Games, parang once in a lifetime lang, na di natin alam kung kailan natin mauulit.

“Rehearsals pa lang, naiiyak na ako nung nakikita ko yung mga lanterns. Tapos, mga sumasayaw, nakakaiyak na.

“I couldn’t believe na I was actually there performing along side with some of the icons of this generation.”

Masayang-masaya si Iñigo na proud na proud sa achivements niya ang amang si Piolo Pascual.

“Siyempre thankful, my dad is always there every step of the way sa lahat ng ginagawa ko.

“He wishes na katulad sa Staples, he wishes he was there, he’s telling me he’s there in spirit and I’m always praying for you.

“Magkasama kami just before going to Staples sa room, sa ASAP, and he had to stay back there. But my Dad has always been supportive.

“That’s all I can ask for, to have the support of my parents, to make them happy, to make them proud of what I do.”

Noong nagsisimula pa lang sa showbiz si Iñigo ay palagi siyang nakukumpara sa ama. Ngayon ay gumagawa na siya ng sariling pangalan sa industriya.

“Siguro para sa akin, I always said that na di naman mawawala yun. My dad is my dad and I will always be proud of it.

“Para sa akin, gusto kong isipin I am my own artist, I am my own person, I got to make that my own challenge, my own mission siguro as an artist na huwag ikumpara ang sarili ko not just to others but also to my dad. “It’s something na nagmo-motivate pa sa akin para mas magtrabaho pa nang maigi.”

Nagpapasalamat si Iñigo sa mga magagandang oportunidad na dumating sa kanya. Sa taong 2020 ay nandoon pa rin ang pag-asam ni Iñigo na makipag-collaborate sa international singers.

“It was full of surprises, it is a year that I haven’t experienced this kind of year sa career ko.

“Grateful ako, siyempre ang daming nangyaring kakaiba. I was able to go to places na di ko pa napuntahan. I was able to do and make things na di ko pa nagagawa. Full of surprises.

“For 2020, siguro to be able to reach out to other countries, bring our music OPM to different countries, different cultures and to be able to collaborate with more artists from the international scene.”
