Coco Martin and his 2,000-sqm forever home

It took Coco Martin 10 years to build this grand house.

The 2,000-square-meter house of Coco Martin has to be his forever home.

Located in an exclusive subdivision in Fairview, Quezon City, the entire structure and its inside features are the result of all his hard work in the local entertainment industry from 2000 to 2015.

The home is now a symbol of how far he has come, from struggling actor to A-list star.

In his words, “Ang tagal ginawa ’yong bahay, kasi ipon, ipon, ipon.

“Kasi dahan-dahan lang, ayoko kasing biglain.

“Natakot naman akong mangutang sa bangko, kasi alam mo naman ’yong work natin— minsan okey ’tapos biglang mawawala.

“Sabi ko, pag ni-loan ko ’to, baka hatakin sa ’kin. ’Yon ’yong pinakamasakit na mangyayari sa buhay ko.”

The main door of the house is an artwork in itself. Coco, an admirer of National Artist for Visual Arts Abdulmari Asia Imao, commissioned him to create this artwork. Coco wanted the image of a fish on his door in honor of his beloved Lola Matilde who was born under the Pisces zodiac sign.
