After weeks of speculation, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim finally confirmed their breakup. Although their love story has ended, in their Instagram posts, the two looked back on their 12-year relationship with gratefulness for all the memories they shared together.

Kim was the first one to post, beginning her caption with ‘End of a love story. It took me a while to say this until today.’

Rumors about their breakup had been going around, but a week ago, their fans finally got a semi-confirmation from Kim through a vlog uploaded by Maricel Soriano. In the video titled ‘Yaya for a Day With Kim Chiu,’ Maricel asked Kim, ‘Ang dami-daming nagbubulungan. Kumusta raw ang love life mo? Tinatanong nila ang love life mo e.’ To which, a shocked Kim replied, laughing, ‘Ang love life ko? Ang love life ko ngayon ay ano… ang love life ko ay naka-hang ngayon.’

Earlier this month, Xian also deleted his vlogs, including the ones with Kim, on YouTube, further sparking breakup rumors.

Breaking her silence about the issue, Kim wrote on Instagram, ‘We owe our supporters the truth, but we also respect each other’s time of healing. In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough.

‘We shared more than a decade of love, each other’s support system, and many beautiful memories. It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship. We thank all our followers for their love and support, but now we ask you to appreciate our honesty and give us the privacy we need as we begin new chapters of our lives. To all our supporters, maraming salamat for all the love and understanding.

‘Lastly, to Xi, Thank you for the almost 12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine. You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing me what love is.

‘As we close this chapter, I ask for everyone’s kindness and respect. I hope this clears everything as we all move forward with our lives.🤍’

Xian, on the other hand, also thanked Kim for the ‘unconditional love’ through the years and ended his post with ‘No goodbyes here.’

His full caption reads: ‘Dearest Kim, thank you for the long years we have spent loving each other. The 12 years of my life with you was the best gift I could ever ask for. We have expressed our love for each other to the fullest and knowing that I got to share those moment with you, knowing our hearts beat as one at one point in our lives is truly something I will cherish for life. Like all good things, it must eventually come to an end. I am grateful for all the moments we shared together. Thank you for all the unconditional love throughout the years. My respect and admiration for you as a person, as an artist, and as someone I spent more than a decade with will always remain. Kim and Xian started dating in 2012 but only confirmed their relationship in 2018. The two established themselves as the KimXi love team with projects together like the movies Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?, Bride for Rent, Past Tense, and All You Need Is Pag-Ibig, as well as teleseryes The Story of Us and Love Thy Woman. Their most recent film together is the Philippine remake of the Korean movie Always, which was released in September last year.
