After the passing of her mother Nora Aunor last April 16, Lotlot De Leon has shared nothing but gratitude to everyone, from the fans to people in showbiz. for all t,e love and support for the late actress. Hailed as a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022, the country’s undisputed Superstar also received the Presidential Medal of Merit which was given by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. last May 4.

In her Instagram post last May 9, Lotlot shared her observations during her latest visit to her mom’s grave at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City along with her family. She wrote, “Two days ago we visited mom with her apos, and Echo and my brother Kiko.. maayos na yung lugar where mom’s at.  At araw-araw marami pa din bumibisita sa kanya.”

Lotlot thanked those who continue to make the effort to pay homage to her mom, whose fandom is one of the longest and most enduring in Philippine showbiz.

“There are times I wait in the car when I visit her pag maraming tao.. and I see how they pay their respects to mom. Salamat sa pagmamahal niyo sa kanya. Thank you sa inyo na dumadalaw at lage kayo may dalang bagong kandila at bulaklak para kay mommy. I’m sure she’s smiling from up above and masaya siya..thank you for always praying for her too,” she added.

Before ending her post, Lotlot also made sure to also thank those in charge of Nora’s final resting place. “Gusto ko din mag thank you sa mga officers and staff ng LNMB for their assistance all the time. Maayos na yung place ng mommy… sobrang linis at ganda. I’m really grateful sa malasakit nyo.  Mula sa aking puso,    Mahal ko kayo at maraming salamat..”

Known as the country’s most awarded actress in history, Nora’s legacy has spanned over 57 years with at least 170 film credits to her name as well as countless accolades which include being included in the FAMAS hall of fame and receiving the Centennial Honors for the Arts by the Cultural Center of the Philippines for her significant contributions to culture and the arts.
