Award-winning actor returns to Kapamilya network after stint with GMA-7

In a teaser released by ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Entertainment on September 28, fans were quick to notice that Christopher was wearing the same costume seen on Ian in a previous teaser—confirming the character transition.

Christopher last worked with ABS-CBN in the 2020 drama Love Thy Woman, which aired amid the network’s franchise crisis. Afterward, he accepted roles from GMA-7, including a lead appearance in The Lookout, part of the I Can See You anthology alongside Barbie Forteza, and a reported role in the still-unaired fantasy series Lolong starring Ruru Madrid.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN confirmed on September 27 that Ian Veneracion had to step away from Huwag Kang Mangamba due to scheduling conflicts and prior commitments. The series was supposed to be his major return to acting after a six-month stint with TV5.

Fans can expect Christopher de Leon’s scenes to begin airing in October, adding another powerful layer to the already star-studded cast of Huwag Kang Mangamba.
