Miss Universe Philippines 2020 2nd Runner Up Michele Gumabao

MANILA, Philippines — Michele Gumabao, star volleyball player and former beauty queen, shared her candid thoughts about the possibility of rejoining two major competitions she once took part in: “Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB) and Miss Universe Philippines (MUP).

Currently a standout opposite hitter for the Creamline Cool Smashers, Michele was recently introduced as the ambassador for Unleash, a pet app offering services like mobile grooming, telemedicine, pet sitting, and training. At the sidelines of the app’s gala event held at One Esplanade in Pasay City, Michele opened up about balancing her career and personal life.

When asked about re-entering Pinoy Big Brother, Michele admitted her curiosity but noted her busy schedule. “PBB? Pwede bang pumasok ulit? Medyo mahirap kasi I have volleyball. Nag-enjoy naman ako sa ‘PBB,’ pero schedule ang pinaka-mahirap. Let’s see kung kakayanin ulit,” she said. Michele was part of PBB: All In in 2014, alongside Joshua Garcia, Maris Racal, and season winner Daniel Matsunaga.

Despite Miss Universe Philippines lifting its age limit, Michele confirmed she has no plans to return to pageantry. “Hindi na po. I think I’ve already closed that door and chapter in my life,” she explained. Michele earned the title of Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2018 and later became 2nd runner-up in the inaugural edition of Miss Universe Philippines in 2020, which Rabiya Mateo won.
