Celebrity couple Lara Maigue and Gian Magdangal recently announced their engagement on social media. Their romance blossomed after collaborating on a project during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Singers Lara Maigue and Gian Magdangal are officially engaged.
The couple announced the good news to friends and followers on social media on Friday, July 18, 2025.
“She said yes to a lifetime,” Gian wrote, tagging Lara in an Instagram post that showed photos taken after his proposal.
Lara, visibly emotional and wearing her engagement ring, shared the same post that day.

Friends from showbiz quickly filled Lara and Gian’s posts with congratulatory messages, wishing them well as they prepare to turn a new chapter in their relationship.
Among those who expressed well-wishes were Regine Tolentino, Sam YG, Rita Daniela, Nikki Valdez, Rocco Nacino, Nikki Gil, Paolo Valenciano, and Lara’s manager, Ogie Alcasid.

LARA AND GIAN: LOVE DURING THE PANDEMIC
As singers, Lara and Gian would occasionally cross paths at events, though their encounters were often brief and casual.
“We only got together because we were paired for a duet by Mr. C [Ryan Cayabyab] one time, during the pandemic — dun kami nagkakilala,” Lara told in August last year.
Their relationship remained strictly professional until, as Lara puts it, “along the way, we just fell in love.”
Lara and Gian soon discovered they shared many common goals as artists, a connection that deepened their mutual attraction
As a couple, Lara and Gian continued collaborating through their project The Greatest Duets, where they perform theme song selections together.
Their next Greatest Duets show is set for August 15 at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan, with the pair performing well-loved OPM classics.
Lara is the daughter of composer and arranger Rayben Maigue, and soprano Nanette Moscardo.
Lara’s vocal range is remarkable. She can sing opera, pop, jazz, standards, Kundiman, and Broadway, and has performed in the Philippines and on international stages.
Meanwhile, Gian — a cousin of actress-singer Jolina Magdangal — first gained recognition as a member of the boy band 17:28, and as a finalist in the 2006 singing competition Philippine Idol aired on GMA Network.
A versatile performer, Gian dabbles in singing and acting and is a familiar face in both local and international theater productions.
He was recently seen in the stage shows Dear Evan Hansen; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; and Come From Away.
Gian has a son, Gian Haley, with former Viva Hot Babes member Sheree Bautista.
