Various celebrities took to social media to mourn the passing of movie and television icon Gloria Romero and to pay tribute to her legacy.

Gloria’s daughter, Maritess Gutierrez, confirmed to ABS-CBN News that the beloved actress passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25.

In an Instagram post, Kapamilya actress and executive Charo Santos shared her heartfelt admiration for Gloria, recalling how, as a young girl, she was “mesmerized by her beauty and brilliance on the silver screen.”

Charo wrote: “Watching her movies felt like entering a world of magic, where she brought every character to life with such authenticity, elegance and grace. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that one day, I would have the honor of working with her.”

She went on to describe her experience as a producer for Kapag Langit ang Humatol, where she witnessed Gloria’s dedication and professionalism firsthand. “Tita Glo had this remarkable way of making everyone around her feel valued and respected.

She treated every role with the same reverence, from her award-winning performance in Dalagang Ilocana, her unforgettable portrayal in Tanging Yaman, to the heartwarming comedy of Palibhasa Lalake, where she became our ever-charming Tita Minerva,” Charo added.

The actress emphasized that Gloria “wasn’t just an icon; she was a guiding light for so many of us.” She continued: “She showed us how to carry success with humility, how to navigate challenges with grace, and how to leave a legacy that transcends time.”

Meanwhile, Amy Perez, who worked alongside Gloria in Palibhasa Lalake, expressed how deeply she would miss the entertainment icon.

“Mommy, I will miss you. 😢 💔 Thank you for everything. 🤍🤍🤍 Rest now in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. 🙏 Love you forever,” Amy wrote on her Instagram page.

On her X page, Barbie Forteza also shared her grief and gratitude, expressing pride in having had the opportunity to work with Gloria. “This is so heartbreaking 💔. Buong buhay ko pong ipagmamalaki na nakatrabaho ko po kayo. Rest in paradise, Ms. Gloria Romero,” she wrote.

Cherry Pie Picache also paid a touching tribute to the actress, saying: “”My Queen of the Philippine Cinema❤️❤️❤️🤍🙏 Maraming maraming salamat Ms Gloria Romero❤️
