Vhong Navarro addressed the controversy surrounding his spiels on ‘It’s Showtime.’

In the March 12 episode of the noon-time show, Navarro used the word “DASURV,” which means “deserve” in a more formal context.

Netizens speculated and attached malice to his lines, claiming they were referring to the recent arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

It can be recalled that Navarro’s co-host, Kim Chiu, also faced backlash when netizens similarly interpreted her spiels as an indirect attack on the former president.

In a Facebook post, Navarro shared an image of his spiels:

“WHAT’S UP, WHAT’S UP, MADLANG PEOPLE! PARANG MAY IBA SA NGITI N’YO NGAYON! PARANG NGITING MAY INSPIRASYON! ‘YUNG NGITING MAY DAHILAN KA PARA BUMANGON! GANYAN NGA, GANYAN NGA! SA KABILA NG GULO AT INGAY, SANA MAHANAP NINYO ANG INYONG DAHILAN NG PAGHINGA… AT ANG INYONG PAHINGA! I SAY-DASURV!!!”

Alongside the photo, he cleared the issue by writing: “Ako po ay nagtatrabaho lang at binasa ko lang ang spiels ko. Wala po akong masamang intensyon. Love and peace!”

Vhong Navarro, whose real name is Ferdinand Hipolito Navarro, is a Filipino actor, comedian, dancer, and television host. He gained popularity as a member of the dance group Streetboys, which became well-known in the 1990s.

Over the years, he established himself as a versatile entertainer, starring in numerous comedy and fantasy films such as Agent X44, Da Possessed, and Bulong. Aside from acting, he is widely recognized as one of the main hosts of the long-running noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” on ABS-CBN. She reposted the malicious content and expressed her dismay over it while at the same time expressing her thoughts about the recent events in the country.

Vhong Navarro’s wife, Tanya Bautista, has recently turned a year older. The ‘It’s Showtime’ host then took to social media to greet his better half. In his message, Vhong thanked Tanya for caring, loving, and understanding him. The actor-host likewise reiterated his love for his dear spouse.

She reposted the misleading content, expressing her dismay while also sharing her thoughts on the recent events happening in the country.

“Hala nakakaloka! Bat ako nasali dyan?!!! Like o to the M to the G!!!! Busy ako sa ibang bagay. Dyosko wag nyoko isali sa ganyan. Parang awa nyo na. Ang gulo na po ng mundonh ibabaw.😫 wag na tayo dumagdag. Dyosko nalanh talaga,” she wrote.

“Hoy! Kaloka kayo. Binasa ko lanh yung script namin na spiels. Kayo talaga! GV GV lang tayo spread kindness and good vibes,” she wrote in another post.

Kim Chiu is a Filipino actress, singer, television host, and model. She rose to fame after winning the first season of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition in 2006. Known as the “Chinita Princess,” she has starred in numerous hit TV dramas and films, including My Binondo Girl, Ina, Kapatid, Anak, and Bride for Rent. Apart from acting, she is also a successful singer and TV host, regularly appearing on It’s Showtime.

In her Instagram stories, Kitty shared a photo of a medical certificate proving that her father needed immediate medical attention.

This was after the recent arrest of the former president after the ICC reportedly issued a warrant of arrest against him for crimes against humanity. Prior to her post, an image of Duterte where his blood pressure was being taken circulated the internet.
