MANILA — Kamuning Bakery, the historic Quezon City bakery is set to sell “Pan de Nora” this May 21 to pay tribute to the late Philippine Cinema’s Superstar and National Artist Nora Aunor.

This was confirmed by Kamuning Bakery owner and historian Wilson Lee Flores via a social media post over the weekend.

“86-year-old @kamuningbakery Cafe Celebrating National Artist #NoraAunor: A Legend’s Birthday with ‘Pan de Nora. ‘ This May 21, honor the late Nora Aunor with a slice of history!  #KamuningBakery Cafe —Quezon City’s pioneer bakery—presents ‘Pan de Nora,’ a special #bread tribute to the *Superstar* whose films & life inspired millions,” the post read.

Kamuning Bakery Cafe is located at 43 Judge Jimenez Street corner K-1st Street, Brgy. Kamuning in Quezon City and open daily from  5 a.m. to 9 p.m..

National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, Aunor, born on May 21, 1953, passed away on April 16, 2025 at the age of 71. She was laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City on Tuesday, April 22.

‘Paalam at salamat’: Nora Aunor finally laid to rest 

Born Nora Cabaltera Villamayor, Aunor started her entertainment career in the 1960s as a singer and was known for her “golden voice.”

She went on to do powerful portrayals in films such as “Himala” in 1982, “Bulaklak sa City Jail” in 1984, and “The Flor Contemplacion Story” in 1995.

Aunor received recognition and awards for her acting prowess, including Best Actress honors at Gawad Urian and FAMAS for her performance in “Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos.”

Aunor had a biological child, Ian, with former husband actor Christopher de Leon, as well as four adopted children — Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth.
