MANILA, Philippines — Barbie Forteza said that her breakup with Jak Roberto was not as painful as expected because of their healthy seven-year relationship.
Barbie said in her interview with Toni Gonzaga that her transition from a long-time relationship to her current single status was smooth.
“I’m happy, the transition was smooth. It wasn’t as painful as some people painted it to be. Breakups are painful, right? I don’t know why it’s not painful for me,” she said.
“But it just goes to show how healthy the relationship was. We viewed it as a form of growth, and it was a good run, definitely,” she added.

Barbie said that she will prioritize herself now that she is single.
“Even if you’re in a relationship with someone, always make time for yourself. Always make time to spend it with yourself so you can have your own identity and know yourself outside the relationship. So that even if you’re in a relationship, you’re still growing,” she said.
Barbie was asked if she entertains suitors.
“Nahihirapan ako kasi for the longest time, I was in a relationship. So now that I’m single, I don’t know when someone is trying to show interest, or is genuinely being caring, or just after friendship with me,” she said.
“Is that flirting? Please excuse me, but I cannot tell. They should be direct, otherwise, I would not be able to understand those subtleties,” she added. — Video from Toni Gonzaga YouTube channel
