Jessie J was recently admitted to the hospital, six weeks after undergoing breast cancer surgery.

The singer revealed on social media that she returned to the hospital where she had her surgery due to a health scare.

“6 weeks post-surgery and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Not expected or planned. I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT THANK GOD,” she posted on her Instagram Stories on August 2 (US time) as reported by E! News.

Further tests revealed she had an infection, though doctors have yet to identify the exact cause.

“They ran a lot of tests which ended up showing I have an infection (still trying to figure out what) and a little fluid on my lungs,” she said.

While she is still struggling to breathe, Jessie was discharged from the hospital and will continue treatment as an outpatient. “Finding it hard to breathe in, but I discharged myself last night (I hate being in hospital) and will continue the investigation as an outpatient,” she relayed.

On August 3 (US time), she posted another update, assuring fans she’s on the mend.

“I think people think that I’m like hanging on by a thread… which in some moments has felt that way. Like two or three days ago when I woke up and I couldn’t breathe. I still have pain in my chest when I breathe, but it’s not as bad,” she shared on Instagram Stories as reported by Billboard.

Jessie also added that there are very few other symptoms remaining.

It was in early June when Jessie revealed that she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

The singer disclosed that she received the diagnosis before the release of her latest single.

“Before ‘No Secrets’ came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I’m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I’m holding on to the word early,” she revealed.

Jessie relayed that she has been “in and out of tests throughout this whole period.”

The “Price Tag” hitmaker opened up about her diagnosis in the hopes of connecting with others who may be going through similar challenges.

“I just wanted to be open and share it because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories. I’m an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much. Similar and worse,” she said.

The singer continued: “I’m getting to keep my nipples, that’s good. It’s a weird topic and a weird situation. And I know the press are going to say crazy stuff but you know what, to get diagnosed with this as I’m putting out a song called ‘No Secrets’ right before a song called ‘Living My Best Life,’ which was all pre-planned before I found out about this, I mean you can’t make it up.”

In late June, Jessie underwent a surgery for her breast cancer.
