Kathryn Bernardo, Alden Richards named box office king, queen by cinema owners

It’s been six months since “Hello, Love, Again” hit theaters, and its impact continues to be felt, with the leads Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards earning a nod from the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP), a group of cinema owners and operators in the country..

Bernardo and Richards were recognized as the box office queen and king by the CEAP, as seen in a joint Instagram post by Star Cinema and GMA Pictures on Tuesday, May 6. The romance film was also noted by the CEAP for its strong performance at the box office.

“HANGGANG SA HULI, THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE! Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards were awarded 2024 Box Office King and Queen by Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP),” the post read.

“‘Hello, Love, Again’ was also recognized by the CEAP for its historic success as the top-grossing Filipino movie of all time,” it added.

“Hello, Love, Again” is the sequel to the 2019 film “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” and it picks up where Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan’s (Richards) love story left off. This time, Joy is planning to go to the US to continue her nursing career until she crosses paths with Ethan.

The film is currently the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, earning P1.6 billion at the box office.
