Nora’s life and career were well-celebrated by her loved ones, fans, and fellow artists in Philippine show business. Her passing brought sadness to many people who followed her career and admired the legacy she left as an actress.
On April 22, Nora was finally laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani and a ceremony honoring her was held. Until the last moment, her children were emotional and overwhelmed by the respect and honor that their mother has been receiving.

Aside from being known as the Superstar of the Philippine entertainment industry, Nora Aunor is also fondly called “Ate Guy.”
Based on the article in Bandera, Rodel Fernando, the “anak-anakan” and confidante of the late Superstar, was asked why she was nicknamed Ate Guy. According to Rodel, as what Nora shared to him, it came from her boyish gesture.
“Totomboy-tomboy daw kasing lumakad at magkikilos ang Superstar noong kanyang kabataan kaya napagkatuwaan siyang bansagang Guy ng ilang nakakasama sa trabaho,” Bandera entertainment writer Ervin Santiago shared, adding that this was the simple myth of Nora’s nickname.
Rodel also shared that Nora was really devastated over losing her singing voice. To recall, the Superstar started her showbiz career through a singing competition. She was first known as a singer before becoming an actress.

“Umiiyak siya kapag naiisip niya ang pagkanta. Sana raw nakakapag-concert pa siya kung hindi nagkaproblema sa boses niya,” Rodel said.
He shared that there were times when Nora tried to sing the Birthday Song but she was really out of tune.
Meanwhile, a story surfaced that a celebrity ignored Nora Aunor when she asked for help. However, that celebrity allegedly cried so hard at the Superstar’s wake.
