Kim Chiu urges the public to spread kindness amid online rumors

Actress and television host Kim Chiu has urged the public to verify information before making judgments, following online speculation about her recent spiel on It’s Showtime.

“Mahalaga po mag-#FactCheck bago manghusga at akusahan ang isang tao. Let’s all be responsible citizens. Magtulungan tayo, wag magsiraan. God bless po ang lahat,” Chiu wrote on X.

The statement comes after heated discussions online, triggered by a netizen’s allegation that she had alluded to the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte over charges of committing Crimes Against Humanity before the International Criminal Court in The Netherlands.

Chiu, however, clarified that her comment was part of the script and unrelated to any political figure or event.

“Hoy! Kaloka kayo. Binasa ko lang yung script namin na spiels. Kayo talaga! 🙈 GV GV lang tayo, spread kindness and good vibes,” she said on X.
