Kathryn Bernardo Joins the Ranks of International Stars with Seoul International Drama Awards Nomination

Kathryn Bernardo is taking her career to new heights! The former Teen Queen has once again proven her global appeal by earning a prestigious nomination at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards. Joining the ranks of international icons like Song Joong Ki (Reborn Rich) and Park Eun Bin (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), Kathryn’s nomination is a testament to her talent and influence beyond the Philippines.

The list of nominees, announced on May 22, highlights outstanding actors from across Asia, including South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, and Taiwan. Other big names vying for top awards include Song Hye Kyo (The Glory), Lee Je Hoon (Taxi Driver), and Yoon Ah (Big Mouth). In addition to Kathryn, China’s Dylan Wang (Meteor Garden), Thailand’s Nichkhun of 2PM, and Japan’s Kento Yamazaki are among the international stars making waves in their respective categories.

This is not the first time Filipino talent has been recognized by the Seoul International Drama Awards. Kathryn follows in the footsteps of Belle Mariano, who bagged the Outstanding Asian Star award in 2022 for her performance in He’s Into Her. Other Filipino actors who have made their mark in the same event include Dingdong Dantes, Alden Richards, and Dennis Trillo, solidifying the Philippines’ growing presence in global entertainment.

The winners will be decided through fan votes on the app Idolchamp from June 15 to July 14, and the much-anticipated awarding ceremony will take place on September 21 in Seoul, South Korea.
