Since he was announced as one of the first-ever Kapuso artists to be part of Pinoy Big Brother’s legacy of hosts (along with Gabbi Garcia), actor and model Mavy Legaspi has also had the surprise of experiencing what it feels like to be a houseguest during the show’s pilot episode.

The 24-year-old son of celebrity couple Carmina Villaruel and Zoren Legaspi, given the nickname “Kapuso Royal Tropa”, was asked to leave the house last March 14 after a short stint inside.

Before being given his last 100 minutes to spend with the housemates, Mavy told Big Brother: “I’m just grateful sa mga housemates na nakilala ko po. They’re really special people. Mami-miss ko sila.”

The new PBB host also gave a warm message to the latest batch of housemates, which also included his girlfriend Ashley Ortega.

“I enjoyed my time with you, guys. Maraming salamat. Ito ‘yung totoong task. My task is out there, pero nung binigay ni Kuya ‘tong task sa akin, nagulat ako, obviously. Wala akong damit, wala akong ni-pack,” he recalled. “I have zero regrets the first night. Can’t wait to see you in the outside world. Hugs for you, guys. I’m so excited for your journey. I’ll be rooting for each and every one of you. I’ll really gonna miss you, guys!”

After going back to his hosting duties on the country’s longest running reality competition, Mavy shared his feelings in a recent Instagram post.

Kuya works in mysterious ways 😂 All jokes aside, I definitely enjoyed my stay inside the PBB house getting to know the housemates and experiencing what it’s like being a housemate! I definitely shed a few tears hearing all the stories of the housemates and it gave me a different perspective in life. 🙏🏻 I hope you guys got to know me better. Back to hosting! 🎤”

When he was first revealed to join the lineup of PBB hosts this year, Mavy shared during a guesting on It’s Showtime how privileged he felt to be part of the show.

“I’m actually very excited na makilala ‘yung bagong housemates na taga-Sparkle and, of course, Star Magic. And siyempre just to be part of the pinakasikat na bahay sa bansa: siyempre ang bahay ni Kuya. I’ve been watching it since I was a kid. Bata pa lang ako nanonood na ako ng PBB,” he revealed.

“And now to be one of the hosts together with Gabbi Garcia, ate Kim (Chiu) kuya Enchong (Dee), kuya Robi (Domingo), Ms. Melai (Cantiveros) and of course Bianca (Gonzalez), I’m very excited na. Of course, the PBB Celeb Collab Edition. Siyempre may kaba, pero I’m very excited na makakasama ko lahat ng amazing hosts at bagong housemates,” he admitted. “It’s truly an honor to be part of PBB.”
