Nothing but love and support was in the air for Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, who were welcomed with roaring cheers from both supportive fans and celebrity friends at the world premiere night of “My Love Will Make You Disappear” at SM Megamall on March 25.

“My Love Will Make You Disappear” tells the story of Kim’s Sari, a bubbly woman who’s sworn off romance after all the men she’s ever loved and kissed would vanish without question. Challenging Sari’s supposed curse is Paulo’s Jolo, a mysterious man who would do anything to run away from his past.

The romcom also acts as an exciting milestone for KimPau and director Chad Vidanes. “My Love Will Make You Disappear” marks the tandem’s much-awaited big screen debut, while the project also serves as Direk Chad’s first feature-length film as director.

After Kim and Paulo’s loved ones from in and out of the industry arrived at the event, it was time for KimPau to dazzle us with their red carpet fashion! Paulo gave a prince-like aura with his slicked-back hair and white blazer. Complementing him was our Chinita Princess, as Kim bloomed in her pastel yellow off-shoulder dress with dainty flower details, paired with silver strapped heels.

The rest of the Tahanan Homes crew, consisting of Melai Cantiveros, Wilma Doesnt, Lovely Abella, Benj Manalo, Nico Antonio, Migs Almendras, Martin Escudero, Karina Bautista, Jeremiah Lisbo, Atasha Franco, Kelsey Lasam, and Lucas Andalio all matched the crowd’s energy as KimPau joined them onstage before the screening.

Paulo expressed his gratitude: “Alam kong paulit-ulit na ako, pero, taos puso akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng sumusuporta, at excited akong mapanood n’yo ‘yung pelikula na ginawa namin.

As they entered the movie theater, Kim amped up the excitement further as she exclaimed: “Sa totoo ‘lang, kinakabahan po talaga ako pero dahil sa inyo, this is gonna be amazing!”

As soon as the movie ended and audiences remained in a kilig frenzy, Kim and Paulo shared a tender embrace through it all. ABS-CBN’s own chairman Mark Lopez, chief executive officer Carlo Katigbak, chief operations officer for broadcast Cory Vidanes, head of TV production Laurenti Dyogi, and head of ABS-CBN Films Kriz Gazmen were among the first to express their congratulations right as the credits rolled.

Along with Direk Chad, “My Love Will Make You Disappear” is also comprised of a stellar creative team, with scriptwriters Isabelle Policarpio and Patrick Valencia who wrote the screenplay from Prime Cruz’s story.
