Among the movie’s most talked-about moments is the heart-wrenching scene where Kathryn’s character, Joy, professes her love to Alden’s Ethan, only to be met with his devastating response: “Kaso, I don’t love you.”

“It Was a Challenging Scene”

“This scene was shot over two days,” Alden revealed. He explained that multiple factors made it challenging to shoot, including lighting continuity, unpredictable weather, and technical constraints.

“By the time it was my reverse shot, the light had already died,” Alden said, recalling how they had to reshoot due to the changing conditions. “Plus, the wind and rain that time added to the complexity.”

A Special Surprise from Daniel Padilla

Interestingly, Kathryn revealed that her boyfriend, Daniel Padilla, surprised her on set during the filming of this emotional scene.

“That scene was when DJ surprised me,” Kathryn shared, laughing. “They hid DJ because that scene was heavy. I had to be sad that day. DJ had already arrived that morning, but they kept him in the room so I wouldn’t be happy.”

A Collaborative Effort

Both Kathryn and Alden praised the script and the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina for bringing out the raw emotions in the scene.

“The script was so well-written,” Alden said. “It was really about the lines, the way Direk Cathy directed us, and how Kath and I delivered the scene. It was a true collaboration.”

Kathryn’s Advice to Viewers

Kathryn left fans with a humorous yet crucial piece of advice: “When you watch it in the cinema, don’t go to the CR during this scene—it’s important!”
