Kim Chiu channeled a tougher, badass persona for her 34th birthday photo shoot. As someone who’s always in front of the camera, doing photo shoots, the actress/host/singer/entrepreneur thought of shaking things up by rocking a fierce pixie cut this time.

On her birthday last April 19, the multifaceted artist shared a video clip showing her lounging around in a bedroom until she decided to chop her signature long hair, revealing a braver and stronger version of herself with the new hairstyle.

It was not only her beauty look that was fierce, her fashion ensembles were sizzling-haute, too! The

lead actress and

host transitioned from a fashion-forward glam look to an edgy all-black attire to a black-and-red outfit as she drove a vintage red car.

The remarkable difference in her look symbolizes her ushering in a ‘smarter’ and ‘wiser’ Kim as she turns a year older.

Kim Chiu’s 34th birthday shoot was done in collaboration with photographer Dookie Ducay, creative director Eugene David, stylist Adrianne Concepcion, set designer Justine Arcega Bumanlag, makeup artist Carissa Cielo Medved, hairstylist MJ Rone, and filmmaker Andrey Dulalia. Kim credited her sister, Kam Chiu, as the producer of the shoot.

 

In a separate post, Kim shared a realization as she celebrates her birthday this year: ‘I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.’

Last year was a busy year for ‘Queen Chiu,’ with projects like the shows Fit Check and Linlang. This year, the Star Magic talent headlines the Philippine remake of the hit K-drama What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (WWWSK), which was released on Viu last March 18. She stars in WWWSK with her Linlang co-star Paulo Avelino.

With all the good things happening in her life now, Kim is feeling blessed and grateful. She mused, ‘Another year, another reason to make things right and just enjoy life itself!’
