Karoline Leavitt Named Press Secretary in Trump’s Upcoming Administration
President-elect Donald Trump has officially announced Karoline Leavitt as the next White House Press Secretary. At 27 years old, Leavitt will become the youngest person to hold the position. She previously served as the national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 campaign, gaining recognition for her effective communication and media strategy.
In a statement, Trump praised Leavitt’s performance, saying, “Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary.” He added, “Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we Make America Great Again.”
Who Is Karoline Leavitt?
A New Hampshire native, Karoline Leavitt studied communications and political science at Saint Anselm College. She gained early experience in media and politics through internships at Fox News and the White House Press Office during Trump’s first term. Reflecting on her early career, she once said these opportunities gave her a first glimpse into the world of media and inspired her to pursue a career in press relations.
After graduating in 2019, Leavitt joined the Trump administration as a speechwriter and later served as an assistant press secretary. She also worked as communications director for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik before becoming a spokesperson for MAGA Inc., a political action committee supporting Trump.
Personal Life
In December 2023, Leavitt shared a joyful moment on social media when she got engaged to her partner Nick, a self-employed businessman. She described the proposal as “the best Christmas of my life” and expressed deep gratitude and excitement about their future together.
In July 2024, the couple welcomed their son, Nicholas Robert, affectionately nicknamed Niko. Announcing his birth on Instagram, Leavitt wrote, “Babies are the ultimate blessing, and I’m bursting with gratitude for our beautiful, happy, healthy boy.” Remarkably, she returned to television just four days after giving birth, stating her dedication to being present during what she described as a “historic moment.”
As Karoline Leavitt steps into her new role at the White House, she brings with her a unique blend of experience, energy, and personal resolve, marking a significant chapter in the next presidential administration.
