Ervin Plaza, who is popularly known as Dumbo of the noontime variety show It’s Showtime, figured in a motorcycle accident.

Dumbo reportedly had to undergo an operation, forcing him to seek financial help from his followers.

“Hi badly need help right now. Prayers and financial help po. Need po para sa operation niya na maotor accident po siya last night. Any amount will do po. Thank you so much,” Dumbo wrote.

Resident DJ of It’s Showtime, DJ MOD, also took to Twitter to share with his followers about Dumbo’s condition.

But PUSH has learned that Dumbo’s It’s Showtime family has since extended financial help to him and his family, shouldering the costs for his operation.

Dumbo, one of the audience coordinators and production staff members of It’s Showtime, occasionally get exposure on the ABS-CBN noontime show whenever hosts such as Jhong Hilario, Vhong Navarro, and Vice Ganda include him in their banters.

As of writing, it has yet to be confirmed whether or not It’s Showtime hosts have already provided financial help for Dumbo.

Dumbo is also friends with several celebrities including Sylvia Sanchez.

In a Magandang Buhay episode back in October 2020, Dumbo opened up about his friendship with Sylvia. He said it all started when they did an episode of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.

Sylvia said he grew fond of Dumbo after the latter noticed that she was feeling cold while on one corner during an episode of Kapamilya Deal or No Deal. “‘Ako ‘yung jacket mo. Yakapin mo ako. Dito ako, sige yakap ka,” Sylvia said, recalling what Dumbo told him. The seasoned actress said she hugged Dumbo after that. Sylvia added that Dumbo would even offer to block the aircon. Sylvia said Dumbo made her love him even more when she found out that he is a family man

Dumbo. on the other hand, said he often visits Sylvia in their home and bonds with their family. Sylvia and her husband Art Atayde consider Dumbo their adopted child.

When Dumbo’s mom died, Sylvia was among the first people who offered her help. Whenever he would be needing help, Sylvia is among the first people who would reach out to him.
