Pinuri ni Piolo Pascual ang Flower of Evil co-stars na sina Lovi Poe at Paulo Avelino sa nakita niyang dedikasyon at propesyonalismo ng mga ito pagdating sa trabaho.

Hindi raw nahirapan si Piolo sa karakter nila bilang mag-asawa sa Flower of Evil, ang Pinoy adaptation ng South Korean crime-drama series.

Saad ng aktor, “One thing naman I really enjoyed about Lovi is being a chameleon. Coming to the show, siya yung bago, but yung ibinigay niya, she’s always scared, she’s always fearful. Kasi, you know, ang laki ng scope ng character niya.

“But siguro, one thing that makes it easy chemistry-wise, she was really there. Yung innate talent or skills, we just draw from each other’s emotions. It was easy for us because we both want to make it work and make it more beautiful.

“We’re on the same page the whole time, she was supporting me, I was supporting her through and through until the end. Kaya nga nakakabitin kasi alam mo na puwede pa, mayroon pa, mayroon pa kayong puwedeng gawin.”

Bilib si Piolo dahil walang arte si Lovi sa action scenes nito.

“Watching her do different scenes, especially mga actions scenes nga, it was a delight to watch.

“Wala siyang pakialam kahit maaksidente. Binato ni Joko Diaz, tumama ang likod niya. She was okay.

“She was always game, anything just to make it work, nakaka-miss yung ganun. Sobra-sobrang nakaka-appreciate pag napanood mo,” sabi niya.

Hanga rin si Piolo sa pagiging focused ni Paulo sa role nito.

“What’s good about Pau, actually nag-workshop pa lang kami before we started, that’s when we broke the ice, coming in to the show.

“Of course, there’s so much expectations. But one thing I appreciate about Pau is his commitment. He watched the Korean version because he really wanna do a different take.

“The kind of commitment that he gave, talagang matatakot ka sa set. He will really isolate his self and he’s really prepared for it. When we were in the scene, no matter how long it took, wala kang maririnig na complaint and he’s very supportive.

“Talagang mapu-push ka rin sa limits mo, which is really good, ‘coz it’s a collaboration. Ang saya ng experience sobra, nakakabitin.”

Nakatulong din, ayon kay Piolo, ang lock-in taping para mas maging solid ang relasyon nila sa Flower of Evil.

“The bubble, yung lock-in, it really helped a lot. Yung bond ng group, kasi it was a big advantage for the actors because di mo kailangang umalis sa character mo.

“Whatever one is giving, what VIU K, and Dreamscape, nakakahiya if you’re not gonna step out of the plate and give out your best.

“Pag pinapanood ko, nakaka-miss talaga yung group. It’s something na talagang babalik-balikan mo with a smile on your face, with fond memories because everyone just really wanted to make it work.

“Everyone is eager just to do something work and be part of a beautiful team.”

PRESSURE TO MEET VIEWERS’ EXPECTATIONS

Aminado si Piolo na nakaramdam siya ng pressure at kaba sa pagre-remake nila ng Filipino adaptation ng sikat na Korean series na Flower Of Evil.

Consistent ang high ratings hindi lang sa Korea kundi sa ibang mga bansa na nag-remake ng Flower Of Evil.

“Coming from the show there were so much pressure. First of all, it was an adaptation, so there was expectation, there’s gonna be bashing and there’s gonna be, of course, judgment from a lot of people—comparison and everything.

“But the best about this, I think, is knowing the story, how it’s gonna start, and how it’s gonna end. So we had a reference, so we kinda have a manual or a guide on how we are gonna do it differently. That is the advantage.”

Pagkukuwento ni Piolo, isang malaking karangalan para sa kanya na naging parte siya ng show lalo’t nakita niya ang effort ng lahat para mapaganda ito.

“Actually, just like what Lovi said, it will bring you back to the memories. Ang sarap niyang panoorin. But of course, the effort of everyone put in, yun ang maa-appreciate mo.

“I’m just happy and honored that I became part of this wonderful show.”

Para sa aktor, maikukunsidera niya ang role bilang Jacob del Rosario na isa sa pinakamahirap na karakter na nagampanan niya.

“More on the demand of the character. It was really hard for me not to lose or go beyond the paramater of the character, because there are instances that I would just cry and I couldn’t stop myself because there’s too much emotions but it was supposed to be emotionless.

“There were scenes that we actually had to cut and then do it again because I am giving too much emotions and the scenes were asking for some restraint.”

Paliwanag pa ni Piolo: “It was really hard. I was playing in a space wherein it’s very limiting. You can’t go by feel. You have to limit, you have to know your parameter, and it was hard for me.

“Usually pag umaarte ka, pag naramdaman mo na nandun ka na, you just have to let go. This time it was really hard. I’m always talking to my director because hindi ka puwedeng lumagpas sa pupuntahan mo.

“I can say this is one of the hardest that I have done because di ka puwedeng magpaka-spontaneous. Everything have to be calculated everything have to be thought out. It was really hard.”

ON BEING A TEAM PLAYER

Niyakap na lang ni Piolo ang role at hinayaang madala sa eksena.

“I enjoyed that especially during that last scene. Whe you lose it, wala ka na talaga. I don’t even remember how I got there, how it ended. I don’t know, I have to watch it.

“But, yeah, I think that’s the fun part of being an actor, losing yourself in the process, letting lose, then bahala na.

“I trusted my directors so much, of course with Pau and Lovi there. Sobra yung commitment, pag nakikita mo yung mga drone na lumilipad and the set-up and everything, you have to level up.

“I hope I give justice to the role and for whatever I did. Yun yung magagandang puwedeng gawin natin na malalagpasan mo yung expectations sa sarili mo and just be a team player. Ang saya lang.”
