MANILA — The director of the movie “My Love Will Make You Disappear” had nothing but praise when asked about the chemistry between stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.

“Walang palya talaga,” said director Chad Vidanes, who noted that the pair had “natural” chemistry with each other. “They’re one of the easiest loveteams I’ve worked with.”

Before the movie, Vidanes had already worked with Chiu and Avelino on the Philippine adaptation of “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?”

“Gusto ko mabigay yung hinahanap ng audiences especially the KimPau fans, kasi it’s their first film, siyempre to Kim and Paulo it’s their first film together,” the director said.

This is also Vidanes’ first full-length feature film, and the first from original material rather than an adaptation.

“It’s also my first concept, na hindi siya adaptation. From ‘He’s Into Her’ to ‘Secretary Kim,’ pareho silang adaptation. Ang pinaka-challenge is how to bring out my creative vision,” he explained.

The romantic scenes in the movie were a breeze for Chiu and Avelino, and they show the same level of comfort with each other even when the cameras are off, according to the director.

“Off camera, same pa rin. Ganun pa rin silang dalawa. Very relaxed, comfortable … Ang tagal na rin nilang magkasama, araw-araw silang magkasama sa shoot,” he said.

No trailer has been released yet for the movie, but Vidanes assures that “My Love Will Make You Disappear” will “show how important love is.”

“My Love Will Make You Disappear” premieres on March 26.
