Buboy Villar revealed that he is happily in a relationship with his non-showbiz girlfriend Isay Sampiano, and they’re parents to a three-month-old baby named Kyrie.

Villar’s relationship with Sampiano was made public through a joint Instagram post on Friday, March 21, with the latter greeting the actor-comedian on his 27th birthday. The post also included the couple carrying their child in what seemed to be an intimate gathering.

“Happy birthday to the guy who still makes me laugh every day! Here’s to another year of blessings,” Sampiano captioned her post.

The actor-comedian opened up about his relationship with Sampiano in a “Your Honor” podcast interview a day later. According to Villar, he made the first move by sending Sampiano a message online, noting he was straightforward in pursuing her as he didn’t want to waste anyone’s time.

“Gusto ko mag-meet tayo, mag-usap tayo, mag-kwentuhan tayo, after that tatanungin kita kung pwede maging girlfriend. Kasi pagdating sa ligaw, pwede naman kitang ligawan araw-araw,” he said. “Siya ‘yung naging blessing in disguise… First time ko maranasan na siya lang ‘yung laging nakikinig sa ‘kin. Ako pa nga ‘yung nagsasabing, ‘may gusto ka bang i-share sa‘kin?’”

(I wanted us to meet, talk, chat about life, and then I would ask her if she wanted to be my girlfriend. In terms of courtship, I could court her every day. She’s my blessing in disguise. It’s my first time being in a relationship with someone who always listens to me. I’m the one who initiates our conversations, saying, “Do you want to share something with me?”)

When asked why Villar initially kept their relationship private, the actor-comedian said he didn’t want Sampiano to be subjected to attention by the public. “Ayokong pangunahan siya ng mga tao. Alam mo naman, may social media, ang daming magagaling.

“Kung alam mo ‘yung pinanghahawakan namin ngayon, masaya na kami,” he continued. “Hindi na kailangan mandamay pa ‘yung ibang tao, manghimasok na ‘yung ibang tao. Proud ako. Proud ako sa karelasyon ko. Proud ako sa baby namin. Proud ako na mahal niya kami, mga anak ko.”

(I don’t want her to be overwhelmed by the public. You know in the time of social media, some people have a lot to say. We’re happy with where we are. We don’t have to involve the public in our relationship. I’m proud of it. I’m proud of my partner. I’m proud of our baby. I’m proud that she loves me and my children.)

Villar, however, didn’t disclose how long he and Sampiano were together during the interview.

The “Bubble Gang” star has two kids, Vlanz and George Michael, with ex-non-showbiz girlfriend Angillyn Gorrens.
