In celebration of Women’s Month, I invited two women of substance and grace to guest on my DollywoodPH YouTube channel, Ces Drilon and Chanda Romero. My friendship with Ces officially began during our stint in “Vagina Monologues” two decades ago. That’s why we fondly call each other VS (Vagina Sister).

Ces clarified speculations that she quit hosting “Usapang Bilyonaryo” on the Bilyonaryo News Channel (BNC) because of Korina Sanchez, who’s a BNC news anchor. The veteran broadcast journalist has joined Cignal TV’s One News “as the anchor of ‘The Big Story’ (TBS).” In another broadsheet, there was a news item with the headline, “Is Korina Sanchez the reason why Ces Drilon left Bilyonaryo?”

“That’s fake news. There’s no bad blood between Korina and me. The writer of that broadsheet should have asked me first,” Ces pointed out. “I am thankful to Korina because she’s so supportive of my wellness product line, Provenciana Naturals. She was my very first customer when I started my biz during the pandemic.”

So why did Ces leave BNC?

“I don’t have an exclusive contract with them,” she explained. “When Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) offered me to anchor ‘TBS,’ one of the reasons why I said yes is that the studio is very near my condo. What a time and energy saver.”

I chided her, “Maybe you left Bilyonaryo because you are a bilyonarya already.” She chuckled and said, “Nakaka-stress Drilon ang traffic from my place to go to Cubao, where the BNC studio is.”

Then she turned pensive.

“Actually, I was still open to continue hosting ‘Usapang Bilyonaryo,’” Ces said. “But they already tapped a new host. That’s fine with me. I wish them well. After my hiatus, my stint in BNC served as my comeback. It was good while it lasted.”

C’est La Ces! She’s too blessed to be stressed.

Healthy is the New Handsome

Every time I see Gabby Concepcion, my mind goes on flashback mode. During my high school days, William Martinez was my boyfriend. Back then, Gabby and William were the hottest matinee idols. When William attended one of my school parties, he brought Gabby along. My classmates were floored.
